Nutrition
For my clinical rotation I completed 528 hours, or about 3 and a half months, at the Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The hospital has 330 beds with level II trauma service status. During my time here I worked on many different floors including oncology, rehabilitation, pediatrics, geropsychiatry, maternity, PCU, and ICU. I performed nutrition focused physics exams on each patient and assessed their needs to determine the best nutrition care for the patient. I delivered diet educations for many different disease states including diabetes, cardiac health, renal diet, hyperemesis, gestational diabetes, diverticulitis and many others. I also had the opportunity to give a research presentation to the dietitians at the hospital discussing sugar substitutes.
