My Story

I was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Georgia the summer before my first year of high school. I graduated high school in May of 2013, and made the decision to attend the University of Georgia afterwards. It really was an easy decision, since I knew they had a great dietetic program. I always knew I wanted to study something related to health, so when I visited the school and learned about this opportunity I knew it was right for me.

I began my dietetics studies at the university in the Fall of 2013. During my third semester, I decided I wanted to incorporate another aspect of human health into my studies and decided to add an exercise and sports science major. I thought this would be a great addition that would help me to understand the different components of health. I graduated from the University of Georgia in December of 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and Bachelors of Education of Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Spanish.

I was matched with the Sodexo Dietetic Internship Distance Program in November 2017, and began the internship in May 2018 with a concentration in weight management. The internship not only provides experience in the different ares of dietetics but it also requires development of

self-management and leadership skills to complete as it is a distance program and the intern has to manage organizing rotations and completing assignments

independently. I successfully passed the registration exam in January 2019 to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and I am excited to take my experiences and history with me into my career.
